In case you’re wondering about the title of this blog post, let me tell you at the outset that I am neither a chef, nor am I the world’s best. BUT, I am very excited that my niece, Stacey Lee Chan is indeed the world’s best chef! Stacey won the gold at the prestigious “Chaines des Rotisseurs Jeunes Chef Rotisseurs” 2010 world final in Helsinki, an annual highly regarded competition in the culinary world. Go Stacey!

Now, is there a world’s best recipe for demand generation?

Someone asked me if I had a “recipe” for demand generation success? Even though I never thought about writing it out as a recipe, I do actually have one. Can’t claim it’s the world’s best, but it works! With one caveat though – like all good recipes, once you have the key ingredients and follow the right process, it’s really the personal touch, your own chef’s wand that makes a meal an extraordinary feast. And not to forget, ultimately, it’s the people who consume it, i.e., your prospects and leads who will decide whether to take the next bite and relish it, or not.

So the key ingredients for successful demand generation are:

  • Account Mapping / Account Intelligence
  • Internal and External Leads Database
  • Outbound Telemarketing
  • Email Marketing
  • Asset-based Strategies
  • Lead Generation, Lead Qualification and Lead Nurturing

You will also need:

  • Ongoing leads database cleaning and maintenance
  • Clear and open communication with your sales force
  • A process for strategic lead progression
