Marketer with SaaS and Software Expertise Tapped To Launch
On-Demand Sales Compensation Modeling and Planning Solutions
LEXINGTON, Massachusetts–July 31, 2007–Makana Solutions, developer of innovative on-demand solutions for sales compensation design, today announced that Arthur Gehring has been appointed director of marketing. An experienced software marketing professional with more than 20 years’ experience, Gehring will help Makana Solutions roll out the company’s complete line of on-demand solutions for incentive compensation modeling and plan design.
“Art Gehring’s wealth of experience in web-service and software marketing is a strong complement to Makana Solutions deep sales compensation expertise,” said Elizabeth Cobb, chairman and CEO of Makana Solutions. “He will be a valuable addition to the team, especially in the coming year, as we build upon the strong initial reception of our recently announced Motivator compensation design planning product.”
“As a marketer, I’ve been supporting sales for more than two decades, so I jumped at the chance to join a company that helps sales comp planners design incentive plans that truly work to motivate employees and advance corporate goals,” said Art Gehring. “Having had experience with both traditional licensed software and on-demand solutions, I recognize the tremendous efficiencies of the newer SaaS solutions, which is another major advantage of working for Makana Solutions.”
Experienced Software and Services Marketer
Gehring previously served as director of marketing for Datacap Inc, a leader in forms-processing software solutions, where he led a repositioning and rebranding effort that resulted in 20+ percent annual revenue growth during his tenure. Prior to Datacap, he was director of marketing for AnyDay.com (acquired by Palm Computing in 2000), where he drove the launch of the industry-leading calendar and collaboration Web service, subsequently recognized as best of breed by The Wall Street Journal and Business Week.
Gehring also served in a number of marketing management roles during his nine years at Lotus Development Corp. As product marketing manager he helped define and launch calendaring and scheduling capabilities for Lotus Notes, cc:Mail, Lotus Organizer, and hand-held devices.
Gehring earned an MBA in marketing from Olin School of Management at Babson College and a BA in Economics from Kenyon College
