You have probably heard about Jim Collins book From Good to Great.
After 5 years of research he and his team found truths about running a business that changed the way companies are built all over the world.
From good to great
I am very disappointed that I just read this book, I wish I have read it years ago.
The lessons I learned where extremely valuable and not just when running a business. Just like Jim Collins says himself, the rules they found go for all development, he just uses organizations to illustrate it.

First who then what
This concept is very interesting in my eyes. It was one of the first things the team found. When making a change in a company you shouldn’t start with a grand plan and vision. You start with finding the right people and getting them onto the buss and get the wrong people off.

This works well in personal development as well. Before you start your journey, work on yourself. Improve your abilities, define yourself as a person and then open up and start on your path to success.

Confront the brutal facts
Most people and companies refuse to see truths that don’t fit within their beliefs. They just find statistics and truths that confirm what they believe, instead of looking for the facts that contradict.

If you are to succeed you need to know exactly what the truth is and act accordingly.

Hedge Hog Concept
This has made a big difference in my life.
The hedge hog concept describes how you can find exactly what you should do and what a company should work with. It generates a simple answer, which takes about 4 years to find.

The intersection of the three circles
Your passion
What you can be the best in the world at
Your economic denominator

When you find something that fits into all three, you have your hedge hog concept.
This has helped me define my personal mission and build on what I know and can do. It has helped me take enormous strides towards my success.

Do you work as a Manager, CEO or need to define your own personal mission this book is for you
If you want to learn more about how to run a business, what personality traits you need, how to build a team, how to define your mission and how to create a culture of discipline, you should definitely read this book.

I have just scraped the surface on the advice given in this book and on reading Jim Collins other book Built to Last very soon.

You can find it at Amazon.com
I really recommend you read this book, it will really help you in your future.
