littlebirdThis is the latest in a series of weekend posts highlighting a wide variety of applications we think are pretty cool. Most have to do with sales, marketing and productivity. Check out past featured apps here.

I have to admit, I have a man-crush on LittleBird right now. I use a ton of different apps, tools, shortcuts, hacks and more on a regular basis. I stumble across tons more in the course of my work, reading and travels.

So far this year, LittleBird is my favorite new find.

Pick any topic, category or keyword, and LittleBird will give you a ranked list of the top influencers for that topic or category. They rank these influencers now based on their followers or tweets or any other superficial measures like that, but instead do the rankings based on how many other influencers in that category also follow each individual influencer. Not only is this a smart way of doing it, but it matches how Google is starting to value your relative influencer following as a strengthening factor in SEO and SERP rankings.

You can add your own (or your company’s) Twitter handle, to see how many of those influencers are or aren’t following you. You can also get an aggregated stream of their created & curated content, plus download lists of influencers for each category for further analysis and engagement. And they’re just getting started.

LittleBird is still in private beta, but I highly encourage you to get on their waiting list.
