Intel SOA Expressway Embeds Informatica B2B Data
Transformation for Accelerating Integration Across Financial
Industry Systems

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Informatica
Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world’s number one independent leader in data
integration software, today announced that it has partnered with Intel
Corporation to embed Informatica B2B Data Transformation software as an
integral part of the Intel SOA Expressway, a software appliance that uses
industry standard technologies to simplify, accelerate and secure message
based B2B and system to system solutions. The Informatica software enhances
SOA Expressway with pre-built data transformation plug-ins for integrating
and transforming data from legacy and proprietary formats to SWIFT (Society
for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) and other payment
networks, thus accelerating integration and messaging of financial industry
information across disparate formats and systems.

Informatica B2B Data Transformation extends the capabilities and value of
SOA Expressway by enabling it to access and convert data from almost any
source and deliver it to target systems in any format with the broadest
industry standards coverage including SWIFT, NACHA, BAI, FpML, FIX and
Telekurs VDF. The embedded Informatica software supports structured,
semi-structured and unstructured including unique support for documents like
Word, Excel, PDF and other formats.

With this new solution, customers can reduce the time it takes to onboard
new customers from weeks to days. In addition, this solution will help to
reduce development and maintenance costs by 50% or more.

“This is a significant capability,” said Nigel Woodward, Global Director
Financial Services ESS, Intel Corporation. “SOA-Expressway has optimized
performance on Intel’s range of Xeon Multicore processors, meaning that
hardware and software can take advantage of the lowest costs and highest
performance. By working with Informatica we add the vital dimension of
financial services expertise and ongoing currency of message formats without
the need for proprietary appliances. We view network connectivity and
messaging as central to online business processes which will continue to
grow as SWIFT and networks extend their reach to the corporate community.

“We have now created an important functional combination in the solution
stack which can be used by financial industry and corporate customers as a
single solution for taking in all data in all types of formats, to send and
receive that data to whomever needs that data, at whatever speed they need,
and in whatever form they need.”

“The new combined offering is an example of two leaders in their respective
fields coming together to meet the need for simplified, yet comprehensive
data services that address the growing complexity of data sources and
information targets,” said Girish Pancha, executive vice president and
general manager, Data Integration, Informatica. “While the current
announcement is focused on the financial industry, organizations in any
industry can realize incalculable value from unlocking the information tied
up in disparate systems, complex files and incompatible message formats.”

For optimal performance, Informatica B2B Data Transformation offers
pre-built transformations for SWIFT Message Type. Informatica B2B Data
Transformations also natively supports XML, including SWIFT MX, SEPA, ISO
20022, resulting in accelerated support for XML. Customers also gain the
assurance that they will remain completely current with the ongoing
evolution of all industry standards and formats, with the ability to comply
with the latest formats and format changes as soon as they take effect.

Intel and Informatica’s collaboration around Intel SOA Expressway began with
solutions for the healthcare industry prior to supporting the financial
industry. Informatica B2B Data Transformation provides out-of-the-box
support for the data format standards of all major industries, including
HIPAA, EDI, and ACORD in addition to SWIFT and other financial industry
standards.

Intel and Informatica will highlight the new solution at Sibos 2009 in Hong
Kong, September 14-18, 2009.
