Here’s an interesting infographic by Yast on what makes employees happy at work. [Thanks to Eileen Scully for sharing] Here are my top 3 takeaways and green goldfish suggestions:
#1. 2 out of every 3 satisfied employees feel they would work harder if they were better recognized at work.
Green Goldfish: Hap tip to Voiance on this goldfish, create a “Just Because” reward. Recognize and reward those who always are working hard, just because.
#2. 80% of employees feel that that music makes them happier and more productive.
Green Goldfish: Buy every employee headphones. Headphones are fast becoming the new “Do Not Disturb” sign. Go one step further and create your own Pandora station.
#3. Over half of employees would feel happier and more productive with a 10 minute outdoor break.
Green Goldfish: Take a cue from AnswerLab and schedule “Walk and Talk” meetings.
