Everyone hates long emails that are trying to sell them something. I know personally, I read the first sentence then scroll to the bottom to see what the offer is and maybe back up to the top. Long emails cause information overload.
One solution I have found that works for me is take that long email and turn it “sideways” by breaking up the content into a series of emails over a certain amount of time.
Steps I take to receive a better response to email:
- Take the long email and turn it “SIDEWAYS” by splitting all that info and send the emails out over a period of time.
- Create conversations and be engaging. Ask them what they want, or what is their problems.
- Provide value to them that solves their problems.
- During the engagement, find out any objection.
- Stack the cool. When they are in a decision making process, add more value.
- Urgency – create a deadline that makes them act now.
What else? What are your thoughts on turning your long emails sideways?
