Fastest Way To Start a New CRM Project

Here is one tactic focusing on how to get started quickly on the path to CRM value.

I am often asked the best way to get started with a new CRM tool. Over the last 4 years I have seen very successful starts and ones that have lagged. The common ingredient to success is a firm hand guiding the users to full user adoption. The second success ingredient is starting data entry with important lead and opportunity data.

My recommendation is to get your sales team together, set a common sales cycle process. Keeping it simple, Lead, Qualified, Quote, Won, Lost, like this. Then get the team to enter or import all current leads and opportunities into the system.

In doing this, key accounts and contacts are automatically set up, and your company will get a feel of your demand. Certainly an important data set for your business. Plus your sales team is using the tool and will start to see value for them.
