Lawless Impressed by DataGuise’s Outstanding Data Masking Solutions for Critical Information Security and Compliance Requirements

Fremont, Calif., April 1, 2009 – DataGuise (http://www.dataguise.com), an innovator of data security and compliance solutions for enterprises, today announced the appointment of former Princeton Softech executive, Joe Lawless, as vice president of sales and marketing. Lawless brings 25 years of sales and marketing experience in enterprise software to his new position, in which he will drive DataGuise’s sales operations, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and raise the awareness of DataGuise as a technology leader in information security.

The addition of Lawless to the management team supports DataGuise’s go-to-market directives in delivering best-of-breed information security products that address compliance with PCI (Payment Card Industry), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), and other national and local mandates that govern the safety of confidential consumer data. Strong demand for DataGuise’s new generation of data masking technologies for production and non-production environments underscores the company’s ability to attract top industry talent.

“DataGuise is a creative force bringing new data masking solutions that help customers secure their structured and unstructured data in an age of rigorous compliance regulations,” said Lawless. “I am very excited to join DataGuise as it expands into new corporate markets with what I think are some of the most innovative and user-friendly solutions available.”

“Joe’s expertise and vision will be tremendous assets to our mission of providing corporations with the best technology for preventing unauthorized data accesses and breaches,” said Manmeet Singh, CEO of DataGuise. “Joe will be a key player on our management team as we pursue excellence in the creation, marketing and delivery of our products.”

Prior to joining DataGuise, Lawless was general manager and VP of sales at Princeton Softech, a high-growth company and leading provider of enterprise data management software. At Princeton Softech, he led the sales team to grow revenues by 100 percent over a two-year period – resulting in IBM acquiring the company.

Before his stint at Princeton Softech, Lawless led the North American sales effort at KVS, a leader in the legal discovery and e-mail compliance space. During his tenure at KVS, Lawless built the sales team and grew revenues by 50 percent from 2003 to 2004, when the company was acquired by Veritas.

Lawless joined KVS after being vice president of sales at Verity, a leader in search & enterprise information retrieval. During his time at Verity from 1996 to 2001, he rebuilt the sales team, and helped to grow annual sales from $40 million to $146 million. Prior to Verity, Lawless held various sales and marketing positions with enterprise software companies that include CA.

Leadership Through Innovation – The DataGuise Difference
Leading industry analysts and corporations understand the challenges of creating ideal test environments as organizations seek production scale and complexity when creating and managing internal software development processes. Additionally, the DataGuise product suite de-identifies sensitive data in non-production, production and endpoint environments, consistently protecting both structured and unstructured data in heterogeneous environments and across a variety of business applications. Data de-identification is also known as data masking, data sanitization, data leakage, data scrubbing, data scrambling, and data obfuscation. Since its inception, DataGuise has demonstrated technology excellence and product leadership with data masking products that outperform alternatives with simple yet comprehensive solutions.

Securing Sensitive Data with DataGuise
The DataGuise solution suite enables enterprises to discover sensitive data and mask sensitive production and non-production information used for testing and QA purposes. DataGuise facilitates safe sharing with application development and QA groups as well as third parties such as offshore developers.
