New Products Enhance Document Management Features with the Tools You Use
Huntsville, AL – November 17, 2009 – Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of document
management and workflow software, today announced two new products:
CNG-SuperSearch and Retriever for WebApps . Both products accelerate user
productivity by quickly locating and accessing documents filed in CNG-SAFE
when using the latest Microsoft technology such as Windows Vista and Windows
7, or web-based applications.
Microsoft Windows 7 and Vista feature the use of gadgets–small tools which
install in the Windows sidebar on the desktop. CNG-SuperSearch is a new
gadget that makes searching remarkably easy by allowing users to immediately
locate documents or folders stored in CNG-SAFE by simply entering a word,
key phrase, or number into the search field. Unlike general desktop search
tools, CNG-SuperSearch is the only gadget that enforces all of CNG-SAFE’s
security and user access rights. Searching methods include document, folder
and full text search. In addition to being installed as a gadget,
CNG-SuperSearch can be installed as a desktop application and used in
Windows XP environments.
“It’s having your own personal document management shortcut on your
desktop,” said Darrell Howard, Systems Administrator at U.S. District Court.
“The main thing I like about CNG-SuperSearch is its simplicity and
versatility. Our Administration and Finance departments are always looking
for ways to simplify their modus operandi and this tool will do this for
them. For example, someone in Finance can simply enter a P.O. number and
CNG-SuperSearch takes them right to the document in CNG-SAFE. It doesn’t get
any simpler than that.”
CNG-SuperSearch also has a unique feature called Mind Reader which will
perform a search using whatever text/numbers are in the clipboard. All the
user needs to do is select the desired text or numbers they wish to search
for plus enter “Ctl+C” and CNG-SuperSearch will search for that value. Mind
Reader eliminates data entry errors and reduces the time to perform a
search.

Retriever for WebApps is a new version of the previously released and highly
successful Retriever product. While Retriever works with Windows based
applications, Retriever for WebApps works with web applications. Retriever
for WebApps benefits SaaS users by linking relevant documents and CNG-SAFE
resources directly to the SaaS application. For example, when a user locates
a contact in the SaaS application they can use Retriever for WebApps to
locate or import contracts, invoices, forms and other custom documents
directly from CNG-SAFE. They can also add documents into the contacts
folder, route information to other users using workflow and email documents
from the system. All actions are policed by CNG-SAFE’s security and access
rights enforcement and document retention policies, ensuring that even when
users have access, important files are kept for designated periods.
Retriever for WebApps was a homerun for the leading full-service baseball
representation agency in the world, SFX baseball, who has been using
CNG-SAFE since 2006.
“We negotiate player’s contracts, prepare tax returns, and provide financial
planning services – all sensitive documents to each of our players,” said
