Top Analyst Firm Names CA a ‘Leader’ in the IT Project and Portfolio Management Market

Report Names CA ‘Major Player’ in Growing SaaS IT PPM Market

ISLANDIA, N.Y., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that leading analyst firm IDC has positioned CA in the ‘leader’ segment of its “IDC MarketScape: IT Project and Portfolio Management, 2009 Vendor Analysis” report for its CA Clarity(TM) PPM solution. IDC also acknowledged CA’s leadership in the SaaS market, naming CA a ‘major player’ in the SaaS/On Demand IT PPM market.

Melinda-Carol Ballou, program director for IDC’s Application Life-Cycle Management research, wrote in the report, “Moving into 2H09-2010, we see CA as well positioned to execute in the bleakest economic market in decades because its efforts are diversified to address the needs of users at many levels as well as areas of synergy related to ITPPM (e.g., PPM, NPD, and GRC). For those combined reasons, CA is placed in the leader segment of the ITPPM enterprise view. According to the report, CA’s established leadership in the enterprise PPM market extends past traditional solutions that manage IT project and programs, to multiple targeted solutions that leverage PPM beyond the IT department. This recognition by IDC follows a recent report by Gartner Research that also positions CA as a leader in the project and portfolio management (PPM) market for its award-winning CA Clarity PPM solution.
