SANTA CLARA, Calif. — April 15, 2008 — Sigma Resources & Technologies, a leading supplier of testing technologies and testing services for the networking, security, telecom, and wireless industries, today announced that the company grew its customer base in key verticals by 250 percent in 2007. Companies who bought Sigma’s flagship product SigmationTF, a robust and flexible automation framework for testing TCP/IP-based network products, and/or Sigma’s leading professional services include Motorola, NetXen and Supermicro.
Juniper Networks is among those who used the company’s comprehensive suite of testing services in 2007. “We were extremely pleased with Sigma’s strong feature knowledge, adherence to scripting guidelines, ease of script maintenance, and reliability of results,” said Omar Ansari, senior manager, Engineering Services, Juniper Networks. “These capabilities help ensure maximum performance of our network security products for customers who rely on our high-performance solutions to secure their network infrastructures.”
Other customer projects include Sigma’s collaboration with a leading provider of multi-protocol 10-Gigabit Ethernet technology for development of a best-of-breed test automation solution. The solution will enable the company to test hundreds of configurations in an automated test bed, which will shorten test cycles by 50 percent and improve product quality, reducing time to market.

Engineers often manually execute large numbers of tests during the test phase of software product life cycle and more regression tests as the software continues to evolve. This approach to regression testing is costly, time-consuming, and error-prone. The adoption of automated regression test methodology eliminates the need for test engineers to run repetitive manual tests and lets them focus their efforts and valuable time on new feature testing.
SigmationTF is a comprehensive test automation framework for testing TCP/IP-based network products. SigmationTF uses test scripts to automatically control the execution of test cases from the deployment of network topology, execution of test steps, and verification of test results to the collection of test logs and generation of test reports. SigmationTF eliminates repetitive manual test activities and ensures that the same test cases can be executed unattended and produce consistent results.
An appliance-based system, SigmationTF comes with all the required software components preinstalled, including the OS, test library, device control library, and test script SDK. To simplify SigmationTF test automation system deployment, client OS/test software is stored on a master controller, and a “kick-start” engine is built in to bootstrap and install the software on client devices. Two hardware models of the SigmationTF are currently available: SM-10 (support up to 3 testbeds) and SM-20 (support up to 10 testbeds).
