* HostFront™ is Selected Best Software Development Solution

London, UK -19 April 2007 – Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, announced that the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has selected HostFront the winner of the 22nd annual CODiE Awards Best Software Development Solution at the Gala held this week in San Francisco’s Palace Hotel.

Seagull Software’s HostFront is a native extension to Visual Studio.NET that offers .NET developers a familiar development environment to easily transform IBM host applications into Web services. HostFront significantly shortens development time and complements the Business Logic Integration (BLI) of Microsoft’s Host Integration Server 2006 by providing easy, standards-based access to 3270 and 5250 screen-based transactions running on mainframe and System I servers.

“We are honoured that the SIIA membership has selected HostFront as the Best Software Development Solution,” said Don Addington, CEO and president of Seagull Software. “The recognition for innovative products is a reflection of our strategic focus on anticipating market needs for practical solutions to migrate valuable business applications to Service Oriented Architecture,” he concluded.

The CODiE Awards were established in 1986 and recognise outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries.

HostFront was among the 367 finalists representing an impressive array of technology and business excellence, passion and success. CODiE finalists are chosen from more than 1,200 nominations submitted by more than 600 companies – breaking the record set for the 2006 awards. Over 219 trade press, consulting, educators, IT specialists and other neutral specialists have reviewed the products.
