Create accurate, high-quality and attractive quotes and/or proposals in a fraction of the time; shorten sales cycles and eliminate backlog

Seattle, WA – July 28, 2008 – Quosal, Inc. will launch this September the first all-in-one software platform that automates sales quote and proposal preparation, delivery and management. With Quosal, salespeople can create timely, accurate, high-quality and attractive quotes and/or proposals with up-to-the-minute pricing and availability, promotions, product specs, images and more – in a fraction of the time and with better results. In an industry first Quosal will be available both as a browser-based SaaS or as a desktop-installed package with zero differences in product look and feel, performance and features.

For managers, Quosal delivers transparency and deep visibility into the quote and proposal cycle, eliminates backlog, and significantly shortens sales cycles.

“Quotes and Proposals represent a mission-critical CRM business process that has received almost no help and attention from the CRM marketplace. With Quosal salespeople now have the ability to create the simplest quote or the most complex proposal with a single tool,” said Kent McNall, CEO.

Continued McNall, “Quosal eliminates many of the manual processes and heavy lifting required to produce a high-quality, attractive document, including accurate and up-to-the-minute pricing and supporting content. It also allows you to choose what format and how you deliver the document to your customer. With Quosal you will have fewer lost sales, faster closing cycles, and you will always make a great first impression with new customers.”

Upon release, Quosal will be one of the first commercially available business applications built using the new Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). In addition to providing identical Web browser and desktop application functionality, Quosal boasts an incredibly fresh and engaging Apple-like user interface, including animated, icon-based navigation, 3D effects and transitions, and the ability to expand and contract (scale) application workspace and much more. This makes Quosal easy to use and far more productive than other similar applications.

“The new graphical WPF interface from Microsoft opens new worlds of possibilities for business applications,” said McNall. “Engaged and delighted users are more productive, more creative, learn faster and work better. Spend two minutes with Quosal, and it’s hard to go back.”

A unique calling card of the product is the ability to handle both quotes and proposals. Many companies need to create one or the other; some companies need both.

Quotes are typically a short (1-2 pages) document on a pre-defined form, centered on product and pricing information. Terms and legal language may be presented, but are very short. Proposals can be much larger documents, providing not only pricing and description information on products and services, but more extensive narrative, contract terms and legalese, options, product documentation, and more.

The needs and requirements of these two types of documents have many common aspects, but are also very different – Quosal is the first software package that can completely produce and manage both types of documents.

Additionally, Quosal is deeply integrated with Microsoft Word and popular CRM and contact management software such as Salesforce.com and ACT! and automatically supports and updates the information needed by those systems for all quote and proposal activities.

Other features include:
• Dynamic “no import” library of product e-catalogs for instant pricing, availability, product content and images across industries
• Highly flexible publication formats and delivery options, deep integration with Word
• International currency converter
• Manages “Nuts and Bolts” detailed pricing with user-configurable screens and add-ons

Quosal will be priced at single user desktop licenses starting at $299, and will offer competitive upgrades at $199. SaaS pricing starts at $35 per month per user.

Quosal was co-founded by Northwest entrepreneur Kent McNall, who previously was president of Gas Powered Games from 2004-2007. Before that, Kent was president of Apropos Retail Management Systems from 1989-2004, where he led the development of innovative retail software applications, and helped lead the company’s successful acquisition by CRS Retail Systems/Epicor. Technologist and co-founder Stephen Yu, longtime associate of McNall and founder of Effiliant Systems, leads the development team as Vice President of Development.
