“Never wait on hold again”

That’s the promise of LucyPhone.com. The startup offers you a service that turns the tables on customer service representatives, and puts them on hold. CNN estimates that we each spend 60 minutes a year on hold with customer service. Once you’ve found the relevant customer service number, LucyPhone patches you through and then hangs up as soon as you get placed on hold. You’re then free to go about your normal life, no waiting, no inconvenience. Then when you finally get your chance to be heard, LucyPhone rings you up and your patched straight back into the call. Now that’s a great customer experience.

No sitting listening to awful pop music, the companies latest offers or that repetitive patronising message promising you that you are 5th in line and your call is important to them. Interestingly, you can choose to follow the wait online – and are provided with direct call-to-actions to tweet about being on hold… which i’m sure could get interesting for some organisations.
