MediaNews Group approves Caspio Bridge platform for its 57 daily newspapers to deliver database-driven, hyper-local and reader-generated content.

Sunnyvale, Calif. – May 30, 2007 – Caspio, Inc. (www.caspio.com), the leader in web-database publishing, today announced its customer relationship with MediaNews Group (www.medianewsgroup.com), publisher of 57 daily newspapers. Four of the largest MediaNews newspaper sites – The San Jose Mercury News, The Detroit News, The Daily News of Los Angeles, and The Denver Post – have all adopted Caspio Bridge as their standard database publishing platform.

MediaNews’ plan to utilize the Caspio Bridge framework for online database publishing follows a series of successful deployments by two other large nationwide publishers, Lee Enterprises and Cox Newspapers.

“This is an extremely valuable tool for our sites,” said Howard Saltz, Vice President of Content Development for MediaNews Group Interactive. “All our properties, both large and small, will benefit from Caspio’s services.”

“Searchable databases have become a critical part of every newspaper’s online offering and Caspio Bridge is rapidly becoming the industry’s de facto standard for delivering and managing database content,” said Caspio founder and CEO, Frank Zamani. “We are thrilled to welcome MediaNews as the latest publisher to embrace Caspio’s powerful framework for rapid deployment of hyper-local database content.”

Caspio Bridge web-based database solutions continue to play a key role in investigative and computer-assisted reporting, enabling newsrooms to easily deploy scalable database applications in minutes and without any programming. Newspapers using searchable databases such as home sales, school test scores, and crime statistics experience dramatic boosts in page views and advertising revenues.

Since 2001, companies worldwide have created over 50,000 web applications with Caspio Bridge. Online publishers can learn more about Caspio Bridge at www.caspio.com/publishing.
