Thank you to everyone who has been following this feature on my blog – I appreciate all of your comments. One common comment is that while these infographics are very helpful to you, even three of them at once can be a lot to digest. For this month, I thought I would break it down into three separate parts to provide you with a better opportunity to read and savour these top resources. As we have been discussing marketing in the cloud recently, I thought I would feature this week some infographics featuring cloud marketing. Enjoy!

Marketing on Cloud 9

Uberflip created an Infographic recently that helps to answer why market on the cloud. If cloud computing is a new term for you, it essentially means using services delivered through the internet. While they are speaking to consumers using the cloud, we can still use some of this information to apply to B2B marketing. I appreciate that Uberflip researched and started with the forecasts from leading companies such as Cisco, Forbes, Gartner and Forrester. Would you be surprised to learn that:

  • over one-third of global digital content will be stored in the cloud by 2016. We are only at 7% in 2012.
  • for consumers, the average per household will grow from 464 gigabytes to 3.3 terrabytes by 2016
  • the global market for cloud computing will grow from $40.7 billion in 2011 to more than $241 billion in 2020
  • According to Forrester, by 2020, most people will work using web-based applications instead of working with software on their computers
  • According to Forbes, 79% of companies say that cloud cost savings “have been on par with original estimates or even exceeded original estimates”

What does cloud computing look like in 2012? Companies of all shapes and sizes are moving towards marketing in the cloud. The top three attributes of the cloud are:

  1. Multi-Device Support
  2. Low Cost
  3. Secure

They have included as a reference three companies to show how they are working in the cloud. Click on the image below for the full sized infographic. Can you add any B2B examples? Share below!
