As I discussed yesterday, there are many different types of content but video is the medium that comes to mind when we think of content “going viral”. So how could I resist featuring a video infographic. Reel Marketing Insider created a video infographic, The Video Revolution 2.0, which also demonstrates that we do not have to be on camera to create an effective video.

This video infographic showcases the updated YouTube Statistics.

  • 76% of marketers plan on increasing their use of video and YouTube
  • Did you know YouTube is the 3rd most visited website in the world and the 2nd largest Search Engine in the world?
  • It has over 800 million unique visitors (likely many more now since this video was uploaded in August 2012)
  • Receives over 4 billion video views… daily

I appreciate how he compares activity across different social media medium. In one minute online, there are:

  • 100 new LinkedIn accounts created
  • 100,000 tweets sent
  • 277,000 log ins on Facebook
  • 2.8 million videos viewed on YouTube

Did you know that iMedia Connection finds there is a 41% higher click through rate, compared with plain text for video and video is predicted to reach 90% of all web traffic by 2014? Does this information make you consider adding video to your B2B lead generation strategy? What is your experience with using video? Share your comments below.

If you are already creating video and want to know how to optimize them, below is a helpful traditional infographic setting out the steps:

  1. Your videos should be relevant and informative (my comment: agreed! The rule applies to all content you create)
  2. The videos should be a source to your website
  3. Include transcripts, captions and annotations as necessary
  4. Video length should be 5 minutes or less
  5. Keep a video sitemap
  6. Add your logo or branding
  7. Enable people to embed your video (as I have done above)
  8. Enable people to rate your video
  9. Manage it across different platforms
  10. Try to add a catchy title, include tags, metadata and optimize it for your key phrases
