Device and product agnostic approach puts customer needs at the top of the agenda in home and office automation
Northampton, July 5th, 2007: Intamac Systems, the UK’s market leader in Internet accessed monitoring and control systems has announced that the Intamac platform is now available for all protocols involved in supporting an internet access and monitoring ecosystem.
The Intamac platform now enables devices to report using PSTN, wireless GSM, email and IP routing, as well as proactive monitoring and control via bespoke protocols such as X10, Zigbee and ZWave technology.
“We’re seeing new entrants coming into a burgeoning home and office automation and control marketplace but often aligning themselves with various proprietary protocols. We believe this is a mistake as it will stymie uses choice and so will retard marketplace development and not allow for the value created by the deployment of the most sophisticated and flexible systems,” says Intamac CEO, Kevin Meagher. “The Intamac platform is a truly protocol-agnostic product so effectively allows a endless range of different devices to be connected to one platform and meet customer needs more closely now and in the future.”
This success of this approach has been underlined as Intamac continues to utilise the latest and most reliable technologies in order to offer its delivery partners a wide variety of choice in how they build and deploy home and office monitoring and control systems. Already working with global partners including BT, Bell Canada and IAG – Australia and New Zealand’s largest insurance provider – Intamac is already allowing thousands of customers to remotely monitor and control any system, device or appliance that sends or receives information worldwide.
“Intamac’s approach puts the customer at the centre with their need for control and ease of use at the top of the agenda,” emphasises Meagher. “The Intamac service is truly device and product agnostic. It offers a platform that enables the customer to connect any device in the home or office; starting today with security systems and cameras, but evolving into connectivity for entertainment and heating systems, white goods and other devices allowing the convenience of remote activation and shutdown and the increasing benefit of energy efficiency.”
