According to Christopher Steiner, Staff Writer at Forbes Magazine, in his article on September 21, 2010 titled “Five Way To Build A Virtual Company”, operating what appears to be a full-grown small business out of a studio apartment might sound like the plot of a B-list comedy, but that scenario has become reality for throngs of savvy entrepreneurs looking to keep payroll down and profits up.

There are five important factors that you should concentrate on and these are:

1. Concentrate on your strengths and outsource everything else.

2. Keep it real, utilize technology to bridge distances but remember that you are dealing with people.

3. Keep operations tight, clearly define expectations so that projects do not get out of control.

4. Treat contractors like employees and remember that the best contractors can always be working for others so treat them well.

5. Stay on top of projects so you or someone else can step in if a critical process gets bogged down.
