Maynard, MA—October 30, 2007—Generate Inc., the market leader in enabling real-time contextual information, today announced the signing of three strategic publishing companies to deploy Generate gClick™ technology on their Web sites to make content more contextual to their readers. Publishers include MediaNews Group Interactive, Hearst Communications, Inc. Newspaper Division, and Philadelphia Media Holdings’ Philly.com. They join American City Business Journals, the first publisher to announce plans to deploy gClick on its Web sites.

These initial customers publish more than 150 local and regional Web sites, which represent approximately 300 daily and weekly newspapers, over 30 million unique visitors, and more than 200 million monthly page views. By deploying gClick on their Web sites, they enable readers to dynamically extract contextual, real-time business intelligence from any Web page, in a matter of seconds, with just one click.

“MNGI is always looking for ways to expand the conversation with our current users and to tap new communities of interest,” said Mike Higgins, Executive Vice President of MediaNews Group Interactive. “Generate’s suite of services will enable us to expand the conversation our news coverage initiates by bringing more real-time information into the discussion.”

gClick enables publishers and media companies to make content more contextual to their readers while driving dramatic increases in non-editorial-based advertising inventory. gClick uses proprietary extraction and matching technology that analyzes Web pages to provide comprehensive information that’s contextually relevant to what the user is reading. With one click readers can go from scanning any article—from anywhere on the Web—to viewing in-depth information about companies, executives and events referenced in the article. gClick enables publishers to dynamically access, leverage, and deliver their existing repositories of content (e.g., article archives, services, classifieds and directories) and advertising, providing even more context to their users. gClick delivers an embedded relationship-mapping functionality that in just a few seconds shows readers how they connect to every company and executive referenced in an article.

gClick can be deployed on Web sites in three ways:
• As a browser add-in button that’s custom branded to each publisher and media company. Readers simply download and install a client on their desktop. When gClick is deployed as a browser add-in button, readers can scan any Web page from within any Web site, allowing publishers to create new, highly targeted page inventory for online advertising and extend their brand.
• As an embedded link or widget on a company’s published pages.
• As preprocessed published content that allows publishers to embed links to companies and executives featured within the content on their Web sites.
