GUILDFORD, UK – Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, was named winner of the Vendor Channel Programme at last night’s Channel Network Awards at the London Hilton. The award recognises the vendor whose channel programme provides resellers with the best opportunities to increase their business profitability by using their products.

Collecting the award, Buddie Ceronie, Vice President Northern Europe and Southern Africa, Avaya said “The Avaya Channel Programme is a progressive partnership approach which recognises the significant role BusinessPartners play in the development of the Avaya brand and rewards them accordingly. We are delighted, in turn, to be recognised and rewarded for our Channel Programme by the very people it is meant to serve,”

“During this time of increasing market competition the Channel is looking for partners which can help them in their goal of developing long term, profitable customer relationships. Vendors, like Avaya, which combine innovative partner programmes, established market presence and proven customer deployments, coupled with the standards based solutions and services customers increasingly demand, are fast becoming the partners of choice for UK Channel.”

Confirming the success with which the Avaya Channel Programme has been received by the reseller community Tony Parish, Managing Director, G3 Telecommunications added, “Avaya has recently changed and improved its Channel Partner Programme to encourage business growth within the channel. The success of the new programme is largely down to a big push from everyone at Avaya and the new online tools that make it easier to track, submit and monitor activities.”

Avaya fended off competition from Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix Systems, Mitel and Entuity to collect the award.

“Winning the Vendor Channel Programme Award at the Channel Network Awards reflects the hard work that Avaya has obviously put in supporting its channels over the last year. These awards are not a popularity contest. Avaya won in this category because the entries, submitted by their partners, showed the depth of resources that Avaya puts behind making its channel programme work in a practical way for its partners”

“What the judges were particularly impressed with were the results in increased business and market penetration for each of the partners who submitted entries. Any vendor can write an impressive partner programme. Few actually make them relevant and effective in the way Avaya has done over the last 12 months.” said John Chapman, Channel Networks Awards co-ordinator.
