Alfabet Announces Record Growth in
Enterprise Architecture Software Market in 2007
Revenue up 50% in 2007 vs. 2006;
Firm Grows Employee Base 41% in 2007
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Jan. 23, 2007 — alfabet, a leading software provider in strategic IT planning and enterprise architecture management, today announced record results for 2007.

Revenue was up 50% and bookings by 61% in 2007 vs.2006 – well above the market average of 12% -20% growth, according to latest statistics [The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Architecture Tools, Q2 2007 by Henry Peyret, April 25th, 2007]. alfabet now has about 16,000 users in 40 countries. To help deliver against this increased demand, alfabet grew its employee base by 41% since the beginning of 2007.
Other highlights for the year included the following:
• alfabet officially launched its U.S. operations with headquarters in Cambridge, Mass. CEO Erik Masing relocated to this office. In Q4 the company also opened an office in Singapore to serve the growing APAC region.
• Market analysts follow alfabet’s progress closely. In March, alfabet was one of two vendors named as Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Enterprise Architecture” and Forrester Research Inc. recognized alfabet as having one of the top two offerings in enterprise architecture (The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Architecture Tools, Q2 2007 by Henry Peyret, April 25th, 2007)
• Software AG and alfabet announced a joint technology solution for end-to-end SOA planning and governance. Other partnerships with InSource in the U.S., ABeam in Europe and APAC are formed to extend international market reach.
• Two new major releases of planningIT were successfully launched in April and October, adding strategy and agility management, business capability management and federated enterprise architecture management to the product suite.
• alfabet increased its user base to 16,000 in over 40 countries and signed major deals with globally active companies across all industry sectors such as Porsche, Coca-Cola, BP, Andritz, Deloitte and Credit Suisse.
