Earlier this week I joined Ralf VonSosen from LinkedIn on a webinar focused on not just social selling, but best practices to measure and expand the impact of social selling across your entire sales team.

You can listen to the entire webinar here and via the embedded video below. We also created a custom version of Successful Social Selling for LinkedIn, available without registration here.

You cannot improve what you cannot measure. Benchmarking comes up again and again in my many discussions with sales professionals and sales executives. Questions like:

  • How am I doing today vs. last month in my efforts to adopt social selling?
  • How am I doing vs. others in my industry?
  • Where are my opportunities for improvement?

With this in mind, LinkedIn Sales Solutions has launched and LinkedIn Social Selling Index. This index looks at your company presence and activity on LinkedIn with a focus on 4 specific areas:

  • Your Brand – completeness of information about your company and employees
  • Your Reach – breadth of connections across your company
  • Your Activity – insights to enable a meaningful sales experience
  • Your Contribution – creating content for the online community

Based on these factors, the LinkedIn Social Selling Index assigns a score for your company. You can also get details in how your score has evolved over the past six months, how it compares to your industry segment, and how your top social sellers are leading the way.

You get can get your free benchmark here: http://promo.linkedinsocialsellingindex.com/register/
