Today’s Lagniappe (a little something extra) – I’m always curious what gets the most views for a term on YouTube. Type in chocolate and Tay Zonday tops the list with 62 million views for his song, “Chocolate Rain”. Dr. Pepper has a knack for picking up on a meme and leveraging it. Here they’ve tapped Tay to sing, “Cherry Chocolate Rain”:

Lagniappe defined: A marketing lagniappe, i.e. purple goldfish, is any time a business goes above and beyond to provide a ‘little something extra’. It’s that unexpected surprise that’s thrown in for good measure.
