Irony abounds in the UK. That’s Par for the Course, and not only in the UK, obviously. But today’s example of rank arrogance is worthy of a special mention.

Only yesterday we posted articles drawing comparison between the best of customer experience, as provided by Carphone Warehouse, and the worst, as provided by Tesco.

Today, we received an email promoting a new offer from Tesco – Save £30 on your Samsung Galaxy Tablet buying from Tesco.

Now, why would anybody do that?

The lesson for everybody involved in sales is simple. It isn’t ultimately about price. For today’s informed, sophisticated buyer its about value, and when it comes to technology product especially its about value add.

Just what level of customer service can we expect from Tesco Direct? Not very much.

Meanwhile Carphone Warehouse is outstanding in that dimension, and in the whole customer experience.
