COLLOQUY has a whole new take on horror movies. You know, the old-fashioned kind where things go bump in the basement and the first thing a protagonist does is open the downstairs door and….. DON’T GO IN THE BASEMENT!! (Double exclamation points intentional!! Honest!!)

Well, frequent travelers, COLLOQUY’s special advice is DON’T GO IN THE BASEMENT BECAUSE YOU WON’T EARN ANY POINTS BY TRAVELING THERE!! And the thing that goes bump in the night might be you getting bumped off the flight!

Here’s the point, scaredy-cats: According to a survey conducted by the Starwood Preferred Guest frequent guest program, “Losing their status in a hotel loyalty program (65%) scares respondents [those who travel 25+ times a year] more than lost luggage (12%) or missing a flight (11%).” And that fear of losing status trumps the fear of risking luggage loss in excess travel: “74% of respondents said they would take an extra trip just to rack up miles or status in a loyalty program. And nearly the same number, 73%, said they’ve taken extra business trips solely to rack up miles or status in a loyalty program.”

Extra trips? On a flight? NOT A FLIGHT OF STAIRS!! DON’T GO IN THE BASEMENT!!
