Are You Developing Leaders Who Are Developing Leaders?

I believe a leader’s primary responsibility is to teach and enable.

As I have written about repetitively, organizations and leaders that create a culture of learning sustain high levels of employee engagement and exceptional customer experiences.

But let’s be real.

If your leaders are not enabling your employees by providing them skills that make them more marketable, then there’s really not a snowball’s chance of creating employee engagement.

You can do all the employee engagement surveys, or all the employee engagement schemes, and none will move the dial or be sustainable unless your leaders are enabling your employees.

Without enablement, engagement is like a seed being planted in cement and the organization hoping it will grow.

The key to intense employee engagement is to create a culture where leaders are held accountable for developing others.

When organizational leaders focus on providing meaningful work, the right skills and development, employee engagement always improves!

It is only logical, don’t you agree?
