Immersive Excel
You would have always imagined, but never found a solution to the tedious task which salespeople or the leadership team have to fulfill in terms of performing what if analysis, make necessary changes and all this without hampering the sales workflow.
The good news is that now your salespeople or the analyst team can view their data in those familiar Excel spreadsheets as they can use Microsoft Excel Online for performing What If analysis, right from Dynamics CRM Online. Immersive Excel successfully takes care of the frustration, time and efforts that were required to switch between applications.
The best thing about this feature that I love the most, and most of you also would love; is the facility to edit bulk records from a view and reimport them into the CRM once again, all this in just few seconds. If you have been carrying out the CRM admin, you know better how much time it takes to open, edit, close and repeat multiple records.
However, immersive excel empowers you with an export to excel view, which remains same, you still remain in the CRM (no local copy is downloaded), but you now have Excel functionality. Go ahead to make changes or create new records and “save to CRM” which reimports the data. Depending on the amount of data, this reimport is likely to take a minute or so.
A quick data refresh will show you the new changes, brilliant time saver I would say.
You can access this functionality if;
- You are a Web Client – only
- You have CRM On Premise – no news at this point when will it be introduced for you
- You already have Export to Excel Security Role Privilege
- You have the O365 License, required to access Excel Online
Analysis through functions such as SUM, Count Etc. in Excel will not be imported and only stored temporarily. Learn more about What If analysis using Dynamics CRM.
Office Groups
You may come across a large opportunity that requires inputs and involvement from people who may not have access to CRM e.g. technical experts and finance personnel. Microsoft has avidly used features from Office 365 to create Office Groups. It ensures that teams work together and share information; teams can share conversations and meetings from Outlook, documents from OneDrive and notes from OneNote.
