We’ve constantly heard and read about how mobile technology is helping various industries and benefiting humans at the end of the day. However, the impact of mobile doesn’t just end there. A new report published by Mobile Business Insights tells us how mobile is actually revolutionizing life for humans and, interestingly, their pets.

How, you ask?

Well, let’s take a look.

Safety

As pet owners became more concerned about the safety of their pets, the mobile industry responded with solutions such as GPS tracking and RFID implants. Solutions such as these have benefited several pet owners who’ve had to deal with cats and dogs that have a hard time not running out.

A good example of such a company is Finding Rover. Finding Rover makes use of facial recognition technology to help connect runaway dogs with their owners. So far, the company has used its solutions over 600 times with great success.

Not just pets

It isn’t just pets that are benefiting from mobile technology. Even animals in shelters have been reaping the benefits of what mobile tech has to offer.

More innovation

One of UK’s biggest retailers for pet needs, Pets at Home, provides their mobile customers with an outstanding omnichannel experience. They offer an app for iOS that is linked to 3000 of its employees spread across 434 stores all over the UK.

The app offers pet owners the opportunity to reduce the burden of having to shop for pet supplies at a brick and mortar store. According to Chris Holyland, E-Commerce Director for Pets at Home, the company is pushing further into mobile technology adoption in order to provide a simple purchasing experience for customers.

Holyland added that his company was highly invested in making purchases easier for customers and that mobile technology proved to be the ideal catalyst for that kind of change.

Other than Pets at Home, a company called Rescue Bank has also been making the most of the mobile technology to help pets. The company scaled a non-profit organization with the objective of rescue and rehabilitation with services and supplies.

Rescue Bank relies on a mobile development platform that is scalable to run its field services app meant for managing inventory, eliminating error, and boosting overall efficiency with regard to rescue and rehabilitation operations.

Mobile technology is proving highly advantageous to businesses and organizations in the pet industry. Needless to say, not only is this making life easier for these businesses but also for people and their pets.

Companies like Rescue Bank and Pets at Home have been able to reinvent their approach and identity by adopting mobile technology to create a more productive and efficient work environment.

The future

Around 85% of business executives across the globe strongly believe that mobile technology plays a critical role in driving innovation across entire organizations. In fact, around 93% of businesses have teams dedicated to seeking out innovation, which means mobile will soon become a key part of other industries as well.

This will be further fueled by the fact that around 39% of companies report better performance and results after implementing the mobile technology.
