(Las Vegas) – SkyWire®Media, Inc., a national Mobile Content Enabler (MCE), today announced an agreement with Las Vegas-based Cobalt Data Centers to provide high-availability data center and interconnection services for its fast growing mobile solutions business. The agreement is a “win-win” for Las Vegas as it joins together two local businesses to handle innovative mobility applications across the country.

“SkyWire Media knew they wanted a flexible, quality, customer-centric experience,” said Cobalt Data Centers Chief Executive Officer Mike Ballard. “Past experience with the ‘big box’ providers didn’t suit them, and they were pleased to find a new alternative in town…Cobalt.”

SkyWire Media epitomizes the “digital economy.” The company personalizes and distributes rich digital content to mobile devices on behalf of some of the biggest hospitality and gaming brands in the nation. As a result, its whole business is dependent upon always-on computing and convenient, cost-effective access to communications providers.

Partnering with Cobalt Data Centers now allows SkyWire Media to better control its operating platforms and bring its critical infrastructure back within close proximity to its staff. A key selling point in turning to Cobalt Data Centers was the company’s customer-centric culture. By providing support technicians around the clock to assist with technical projects, respond to service requests and ensure business continuity, Cobalt has quickly become an industry benchmark.

In addition, the design efficiencies in Cobalt’s brand new facility often result in impactful cost savings for customers. Cobalt’s Cheyenne development meets the latest Tier III design standards, is SSAE 16 certified and is connected to the region’s most vital networks.

“There are several factors that influenced our decision to go with Cobalt Data Centers’ state-of-the-art facilities,” said Thomas Castleberry, executive vice president/chief operating officer of SkyWire Media. “They provide design excellence, well thought out amenities, and a knowledgeable management team with a successful history in datacenter solutions. We were also impressed with our overall monetary savings by consolidating all of our colocation needs under one roof.”
The Cobalt Cheyenne project is a multi-tenant datacenter boasting state-of-the-art electrical and mechanical designs, all done in a 5.5 megawatt, 34,000 square-foot facility in northwest Las Vegas. Ballard said SkyWire and other businesses throughout the nation are flocking to data centers like Cobalt for cost effective colocation services in a business-friendly area known for minimal natural disaster risks.

“We are seeing an increase in businesses seeking a facility like Cobalt Cheyenne,” said Ballard. “With Nevada known as a state with virtually no natural disasters, we are becoming a strong hub for both local and national businesses seeking top notch infrastructure hosting.”
