Xactly Modeling Empowers Finance and Sales to Accurately Forecast Commissions Expense and Model Compensation Plan Changes in Advance of Implementation

SAN JOSE, Calif. – March 12, 2007 – Xactly Corporation, (www.xactlycorp.com), the market leader in on-demand sales compensation management and an innovator in on-demand sales performance management, today announced the availability of Xactly Modeling™, a new, complementary module that is fully integrated with its Xactly Incent™ sales compensation management application. It empowers finance and sales to determine the impact of commissions expense forecast, organization plan and compensation plan changes in advance of implementing them.

Today’s Xactly Modeling announcement is part of a detailed product roadmap also announced today in an accompanying press release from Xactly. Xactly’s flagship application, Xactly Incent, is a Web-based solution that enables medium-size enterprises in any industry to improve sales effectiveness and maximize profits. Companies use Xactly Incent to design, implement, manage, audit and optimize sales compensation management at the center of their sales performance management strategy.

“Xactly Modeling enables companies to forecast commissions’ expenses and model compensation plan changes in a risk-free environment,” said Satish Palvai, Xactly co-founder and vice president of engineering. “Using Xactly Modeling, companies can easily create and manage change within their incentive compensation management process. By providing companies with visibility into the potential effects of change, Xactly Modeling enables finance, sales operations and compensation analysts to design, implement or adjust incentive programs rapidly and in a risk-free manner. Real-time commissions expense forecasting and modeling of compensation plans and organization changes is a mission-critical business process for finance departments. Xactly Modeling gives companies the visibility to detect commissions expense exposure and provide impact analysis to maximize profits.”

According to Palvai, the Xactly Modeling environment has been designed in a parallel form from the Xactly Incent production environment in order to eliminate any potential impact to production processing. However, once modeled changes have been previewed and accepted, they can then be seamlessly migrated into the live production environment.

“Our sandbox approach means that customers can model and analyze multiple compensation expense, plan and organizational scenarios, without disrupting anything,” said Palvai. “If a customer does make a change, they have a secure source from which to restore their model back to any state. This approach is the best way customers can be fully confident in using our application; they can model various scenarios and not worry about making a mistake. Customers can’t do this if their modeling is co-mingled with their production environment as is the case in competitive offerings.”

“Xactly Modeling makes it easier for financial executives to create realistic plans and perform a far richer set of ‘what-if’ analyses than they can do with spreadsheets,” said Robert D. Kugel, CFA, Ventana Research, senior vice president and research director. “This, in turn, can lead to more accurate forecasts and greater agility when business conditions change. Also, rather than having to calculate the impact of trends or seasonality on order or expenses, past patterns can be easily replicated in projecting the future, saving time and improving accuracy.”

Xactly Modeling allows finance teams to perform the following:

• Forecast commission expenses using actual or projected orders to accurately determine future cash requirements

• Model compensation plan changes and see the upside and downside risk before taking action

• Change the organization structure and view the effects on both the top and bottom lines

• Be responsive to market opportunities by removing constraints to action

• Promote modeled changes seamlessly into the live environment with confidence

• Xactly Modeling has also been embedded into Xactly Incent for AppExchange™. Salesforce users can now access Xactly Modeling without having to log into a separate environment thereby increasing work efficiency.

Xactly Modeling is a new, complementary module that is fully integrated with Xactly’s Xactly Incent sales compensation management application. It empowers finance and sales to forecast and determine the impact of organization and compensation plan changes in advance of implementing them.

Xactly is the first and only company completely focused on delivering a 100-percent on-demand sales compensation management solution. It is also the first and only company to deliver a true multi-tenant solution in a SAS 70 Type II-certified environment. This single-minded approach enables Xactly to minimize hardware and software infrastructure costs – savings that are then passed on to customers – and accelerate the process by which it delivers new features and functionality.
