Why Was My Author Account Not Approved?

If you’re reading this, you probably found out that your CustomerThink author account was not approved. The most common reasons are:

  1. Lack of relevant background and writing experience in the topics that CustomerThink covers. We’re seeking authors who can share best practices and in-depth advice for success based on their own experience.
  2. Focus on general web or mobile application development. Technology-related content should be appropriate for business managers in marketing, sales, or customer service — not developers.
  3. Focus on SEO and content marketing. Authors with such backgrounds tend to write promotional content including backlinks for clients, which our terms of use doesn’t allow. Therefore, SEO specialists and authors representing digital marketing agencies are generally not approved.
  4. Author profile incorrectly or incompletely filled out. For example, we don’t allow third-party email addresses or company LinkedIn accounts. Also, the submitted CustomerThink profile must be consistent with the LinkedIn profile (current company name, job description, etc.).
