Where’s your MOBILE COUPON?

Oh my times have changed!  As an old person, I remember the brick I used to carry around that doubled as a”cellular phone.”

According to a new study from IHL Group, eight in 10 US mobile phone users currently uses or will use mobile text coupons within 24 months.  Additionally, more than 20% of consumers are also using regular barcode and 2D barcode functions.

The study suggests that coupons on mobile screens only have 16% current engagement, but 38% planned engagement within the next 12 months, second only to text coupons.

The popularity of text coupons appears linked to the fact that 94% of mobile phone owners have text included in their phone plan. As a result, text is the most popular feature of US consumer mobile phone plans. Other popular features include email (80%) and mobile web (78%).

So what are you waiting for it’s time to seize the digital age and mobile coupons!  My only question is what will we do with these?
