Social Media Infancy
Trial and error – people believe everything and do everything with care. Shy, not mature steps, better not say anything, read often but write rarely. Everything is a great wonder. A great period in the social media live.

Social Media Puberty
Anything goes, you get crazy. You try all sorts of things – must be cool and fun. You try to become rock star. You write whatever is on your mind – not knowing you could get fired for that. You just try every tool and have a lot of fun. You learn most of the social media basics – you go to school.

Social Media Early Adulthood
You realize you have only 24 hours a day and need results not just fun. You change. You start crafting a strategy, develop more effective models to walk through that jungle. You experience a lot of new behavior and wish you would have learned more.

Social Media Adult
Your Network is your 401K, your title is written in your social graph.

Have a great weekend 🙂

  1. There is a great coorelation Axel, between molting and shifting. People start with unacceptance, an unlikely perspective to most new changes required of their behavior. Then with a bit more thought and probing determine it could be possible — to finally they embrace the new as worthwhile. They feel liberated from old beliefs and patterns that were boring. We started with fire and the wheel — figured out speech and how to fly – no the world wasn’t flat and matter only seemed solid. … and so too will go the way of a networked world full of social butterflys. A cultural shift is well underway and while we can’t tell all the ramifications from the changes, any one interested should prioritize the education process and learn to roll with the tide — you know, like Alabama football fans.
