fhios senior research consultants presented their white paper ‘Usability: Agile usability for rapid development’ at the Create09 held on July 1st and 2nd in London .
Their white paper showed how during an economic downturn, online vendors have adapted by utilising lightweight approaches or so called ‘agile usability’ methods. The issues raised in the paper were particularly relevant to research and design practice, highlighting how:
• developers can quickly identify outstanding or new issues within product testing
• 70% usability issues can be identified in the first round of iteration tests
• cost can be reduced with agile testing
The conference focused on how creative technology can be used in designs, interactions, or in digital consumer products, to make a difference in people’s lives, and was attend by delegates from Orange global, HO, O2, BAE systems, Which?, Yahoo and academic institutions.
The presentation instigated a lively debate among the delegates, who found it to be insightful and usable, and would be looking to implement the recommendations at their own companies.
