A typical customer lifecycle goes like this – prospective customer is exposed to a sales or marketing message, expresses interest, participates in negotiations until the transaction happens. This is true with both online and offline marketing and the communication itself can happen either through advertisements, cold-calls or passively when the prospect comes across the product on a retail shelf at Wal-Mart. No matter what the medium is, it is extremely important for a good first impression. According to various studies, businesses have anywhere between 7 to 15 seconds to capture the attention of a customer online.

This is why landing page creators are so important. They serve two primary purposes : build customized landing pages quickly, and to easily build multiple versions of them to either target performance or to target each specific customer-segment separately. In this article, we will take a look at the the top five landing page creators and why they rank among the top.

GetResponse Landing Page Creator

The objective of a landing page is to create enough interest about your product and capture the email address of your visitor that you can reach out to, and GetResponse does it very well. It is a complete package that lets you pick between hundreds of templates to create a landing page, integrate with an autoresponder and thereby automating the entire marketing process from attracting the customer to reaching out and selling to them. As far as the landing page tool goes, GetResponse comes with a sophisticated built-in image editor tool, drag-and-drop landing page builder interface and A/B testing services to compare the performance of your various landing pages. You may also integrate your landing page with most of the popular analytics and remarketing tools for better monitoring of your campaigns.

LaunchRock

If you are seeking a free landing page creator tool, then LaunchRock is the one for you. The product comes with a beautiful WYSIWYG editor to create quick and easy ‘coming soon’ pages for early stage products. Besides landing page creation, LaunchRock also includes tools to help you promote your landing page and analyze customer acquisition. There are a couple of things to watch out for – firstly, the free plan does not permit custom domains and includes a ‘powered by LaunchRock’ message. These are things that scream ‘free’ and should be avoided in order to be taken seriously by customers. Secondly, while it is a great tool to promote businesses launching soon, it really is not helpful if you are an established business trying to reach various customer segments through custom-landing pages.

KickOffLabs

There is more than one reason to like KickOffLabs – the product comes with a neat WYSIWYG based landing page creator, more than 60 templates to pick from, A/B testing tools and multiple ways to capture leads through popups, thank you messages and exit-intent widgets. You also get to integrate with any of the third-party email marketing tools to automate your lead capture and marketing campaigns. The catch though is in the price – the minimum viable plan starts at $39/month which would not be too bad by itself, except for the fact that you also have to pay more for an autoresponder tool, which could inflate your monthly marketing budget significantly. With little to separate KickOffLabs from an alternate like GetResponse, you could go for the latter since you pay lesser for more features. There is a free plan too but that limits your exposure to 1000 views a month which is pretty low for any serious business looking to capture leads.

UnBounce

The first thing you will need to know about Unbounce is the price. It is relatively more expensive compared to the other tools available in the market. The product has a starting price of $49/month that comes with a traffic limit of 5000 unique visitors. Since the price is for unique visitors and not subscribers, it leaves little room for experimentation and marketers could find themselves under pressure to improve subscription rates (that may not always correspond to sales conversion). But in terms of features, Unbounce is as good as any other product in the market – it has a beautiful drag-and-drop interface, design features like parallax scrolling, lead capture, WordPress integration, dynamic text replacement and A/B testing tools.

InstaPage

In terms of landing page creation itself, InstaPage is one of the better tools in the market today. There are over a hundred templates to choose from and there are tools that offer lead capture, webinar registration and design thank you pages. But again, like with KickOffLabs, InstaPage does not offer email automation by itself which means your final cost with full integration is likely to be much higher than what the pricing page suggests.

Price: Starts at $29/month (paid annually)

In terms of features, most of these products are quite comparable. What differentiates these products is what is built into the product against what needs to be integrated with third party tools. While services like GetResponse have in-built tools that help with email and webinar marketing, these have to be separately integrated through third-party tools on other rival landing page creators like KickoffLabs or InstaPage. Depending on the features you need and the price, you could pick the one that is best for your business. What’s your choice? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Hey Anand, enjoyed your review – some interesting and valuable information to any landing page user.
I think you forgot to mention Pagewiz, as it’s one of the preferred landing page building tools around, loved by +45,000 marketers.
Pagewiz has some unique features distinguishing it from other platforms, allowing you full control of your landing page design such as a multiple forms allowing separate fields design, Themeforest integration (70+ templates) to make your pixel perfect design.

Again, great job on this review, definitely worth the read.

  2. I just want to add ActiveTrail email marketing platform as it has its own landing page creator, it’s a time and money saver, you don’t need to download any landing page creator anymore if you have ActiveTrail.
