Flexible enterprise document management solution delivers savings of over 52,000 hours annually for Dutch media company
BURLINGTON, MA USA – September 3, 2008 – StreamServe Inc., a global leader in dynamic document composition, management and delivery solutions, today announced that Media Logistics has improved its output quality, attracted new customers and has significantly increased its cost savings by deploying StreamServe’s Enterprise Document Presentment (EDP) document management solution.
Media Logistics, the logistics division of Dutch media group Audax, specializes in physical magazine distribution from warehousing to transport and fulfillment. The company performs these services for the Audax group companies, as well as for third party businesses. In their continuous aim to put the customer first, Media Logistics wished to develop a more reliable daily magazine distribution process to 14,000 news outlets in the Benelux region. In addition to ensuring that the correct customer documentation was being delivered to the right customer, Media Logistics also wished to streamline their internal processes.
Media Logistics integrated StreamServe’s EDP solution, which was found to be the most flexible on the market. “The StreamServe solution not only allows us to manage our document production flexibly using information from various systems per customer; we can also rapidly add new documents to our production line,” said Bob Furrer, Project Manager of Engineering and Information at Media Logistics. “StreamServe’s software is so simple and flexible that we can implement new clients in no time. As a result, developing the layout of a document in accordance with the client’s requirements can now be done two to three times faster than before.”
Today, the improved efficiencies generated by the new document management process have saved 52,000 hours annually for Media Logistics’ contracted drivers, and have led to improved output quality and significant savings in the internal document management process.
Furrer estimates that the efficiencies rendered will enable Media Logistics to recuperate their total investment within two years at the most. Thanks to the ease of adding customized information in a short space of time, Media Logistics has also acquired a new unique selling point, making it easier to attract new media clients which value a rapid and reliable daily distribution with minimal start-up time.
“With StreamServe, we plan to deliver all documents to the client digitally through e-mail or a web portal, where the client can go to pick up information or invoices. The marketing department is also looking to take advantage of this solution. Now that we send personalized, high-quality documents, we can make customized offers. Finally, the flexibility of the StreamServe solution gives us extra sales arguments that can help generate new business,” concluded Furrer.
