Seapine’s defect tracking tool fulfills an essential need for game developers
Mason, OH—December 4, 2008—Seapine Software, a leading provider of quality-centric application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions, announced that TestTrack Pro was selected as a finalist for Game Developer magazine’s Front Line Award.
One of five finalists in the Programming/Production Tools category, TestTrack Pro helps software development organizations track defects, issues, and feature requests. Defect tracking is a critical component of any software development and quality control process.
“A single unresolved defect can cripple early adoption, which is essential to a game’s success,” said Richard Riccetti, president and CEO, Seapine Software. “TestTrack Pro makes it easy for studios to manage the complexity of game development and to ensure that issues are resolved before the game is released.”
Seapine Software has a large presence in the gaming industry. Its clients include 2K (the makers of BioShock), Atari, Epic Games (makers of 2007 Game of the Year winner Gears of War), and Sega, among others. “Because the game development industry consistently pushes the technology envelope, while managing software quality and cost challenges,” says Riccetti, “being a finalist for the Front Line Award is especially rewarding.”
The Front Line Awards honor the year’s best development hardware and software for programming, art, audio, hardware, and game components. For this year’s Front Line Awards, both Game Developer magazine subscribers and Gamasutra.com community members were surveyed to nominate the best game development-related products. Following consultation with the magazine’s editors, finalists were selected based on criteria such as utility, innovation, value, and ease of use.
