Nobody Wants To Talk To Your Machine

Yesterday I wrote about the importance of doing nothing.

What I meant by that was the importance of taking a moment of time and reflecting on what is most important to you, your loved ones and your customers.

Often times at work we get caught up in the rat race and get pulled away from what is important.

When you are away from your desk, on another call, or in a meeting, the people who call you pretty much want to talk to you, a human being.

Which do you think they would prefer if you are not available: a) A voice automated system or b) a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful human being?

If you answered A, I know you work for some government bureaucracy.

Of course everyone would prefer to deal with a helpful, friendly, knowledgeable human being.

We all have to do business, occasionally we all have to sit in a meeting, and of course it is better for us all to be away from our desk.

The challenge is how do you have a helpful, friendly human answer the phone for you when you are not there?

I’m talking about 24/7 365.

Yes, I think it is important and proper to have a friendly helpful human being available to answer a customer’s call 24/7, don’t you?

The question is, if you think it is important, what are you doing about it?

If you are reading this, thank you. I appreciate it.

What you probably know is I am hidden away, disconnected from all technology having pre-wrote and scheduled this blog from Sunny San Diego.

If you read yesterday, then you know I can’t be reached. I am not in a meeting. I am definitely not at my desk and I am certainly not next to a phone.

Here is the cool thing.

No matter when you or one of our other valued customers want to call me, I have one promise I can always keep. The phone will always be answered by a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful human being.

I am not crazy enough to publish my social security number, but I am proud enough to publish my direct business line: 760-930-0077. Call me anytime. Leave me a message. I will definitely call.

It might be a fun thing for you to try. One night when you can’t sleep, pick up the phone and give me a crank call.

If I don’t answer some other friendly helpful human being will!

P. S.

You may be in China. You may be in India. You may be in The Bahamas like me. It doesn’t matter what time zone you are in. It’s a small world. Go ahead pick up the phone (sorry it’s not toll free) 760-930-0077.

P. S. S.

If you want to know how to make this magic happen, just give me a call 760-930-0077.
