According to the latest results of the Econsultancy/Adestra Email Marketing Industry Census, 66% of the over 1,300 respondents believe that email marketing has better ROI than any form of SEO. While this might be correct, the use of the effective turnover count in quantifying the battle for supremacy between email marketing and searching engine optimization could be somewhat short sighted.

With search engine optimization, marketers get the chance to reach out to new audiences across the globe by merely posting content that is search engine sensitive. Even though high ranking in search engines will not guarantee you better business, it is a perfect way of drawing new traffic to your business. Chances are that one out of say every 100 hits generated through good SEO would turn into a loyal customer. Though the turnover is low, it increases on your customer base by bringing new people on board.

Email marketing cannot solicit for new clients without tending to spamming, search engine optimization will shout your identity and specialty out of the roof tops without breaking any moral or ethical rules governing internet use.

Trying to name the best approach to Internet marketing between these two is vague. It depends on your ultimate interests and your current position. If you are interested in generating hits that do not have to mature into actual leads, you could say search engine optimization is the best solution. If you are keen on permanent relationships, you could spend some time putting together a mailing list since email marketing would be the ace for you.

Practically, many experts would opt to play safe and mix the email marketing and search engine optimization for better results.
