PLEASANTON, Calif. — February 7, 2012 — ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced that it will launch mobile device management (MDM) services for Mobile World Congress. The move empowers both established and emerging enterprises to take control of their exploding mobile device ecosystems and manage them from the same pane of glass they use to manage traditional infrastructure and applications.
Desktop Central expands device management support beyond the traditional desktop to include Apple iOS-based devices. Moreover, IT professionals can now monitor and manage the entire enterprise IT infrastructures using IT360 from an iPad. ManageEngine will demonstrate Desktop Central and IT360 in booths 2.1A77 and 2.1A79 at Mobile World Congress, running February 27–March 1, at Fira Montjuïc, in Barcelona.
“Smartphones and tablets are here to stay on company networks,” said Raj Sabhlok, president of ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp. “Tablet sales alone are projected to be in the hundreds of millions each year for the next several years, and budding movements such as Bring Your Own Device just further entrench and complicate security, bandwidth use, and asset management in the enterprise. By extending our proven IT management products with the kinds of MDM services that organizations need, ManageEngine enables IT organizations to meet the challenges presented by mobile with the same tools they use to manage their traditional enterprise infrastructure.”
ManageEngine Highlights at Mobile World Congress 2012
At Mobile World Congress 2012, ManageEngine will make its MDM debut with rich management functionality for iOS devices — the iPhone and iPad as well as iPod touch — with support for other mobile device OSes to come. The company’s first round of MDM capabilities will be delivered as part of its desktop management software, Desktop Central, and will enjoy tight integration with its ServiceDesk Plus help desk software.
• Security management, with the ability to lock the device, erase device data, erase corporate settings, clear passcodes, and execute other security commands
• Asset management, including the ability to view certificates and profiles installed, restriction details, security information, app inventory, and device information
• Configuration management, with the ability to enable passcodes, impose restrictions, configure email, enable Exchange ActiveSync and configure VPN and WiFi settings
ManageEngine will also debut an iPad UI for IT360 at the show. These iOS-based interfaces will complement similar interfaces ManageEngine has already delivered, including the mobile UI for OpManager and the mobile UI and application for ServiceDesk Plus.
Desktop Central is a complete desktop management software that provides software deployment, patch management, service pack installation, asset management, remote control, configurations, system tools, user logon reports, and Active Directory reports. It is a network-neutral solution for both enterprises and managed service providers (MSPs) that can be used to manage desktops in Active Directory, Workgroups, or other directory services-based networks like Novell® eDirectory. In addition to the new MDM features, the latest version of Desktop Central (8.0) will support MS SQL and video recording of remote support sessions.
The IT360 dashboard provides a 360-degree view across IT to proactively monitor performance. It is designed to monitor and manage IT infrastructures for medium and large enterprises, and adds a business context to monitoring IT resources to help the various stakeholders understand the impact of downtimes on the business. IT360 comprises network performance, server and application performance, database performance, and end-user experience management for IT operations and an ITIL helpdesk for IT service management, all in one product. In addition to direct use by enterprises, IT360 is also available for MSPs who offer IT management. The latest version of IT360 will feature support for the management console on an iPad in addition to other features. IT360, with the latest iPad support, will ensure that business and IT users can keep track of key IT metrics and make informed and meaningful decisions in real time, anytime and anywhere, to ensure business continuity
