In particular, Saxum provides a second-by-second, minute-by-minute replay, as well as statistics on social media behaviour. As reported by Saxum, below is a summary of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn behaviors on a daily basis:

Facebook

  • The number of likes on a daily basis: 2.7 billion
  • Facebook users (approximately 23%) refer to news feeds over 5 times a day
  • Total number of photos uploaded: 350 million

Twitter

  • Number of tweets posted daily: 400 million
  • Regular Twitter users are active on the site from Monday to Thursday between 12pm and 5pm
  • Total searches conducted on Twitter on a daily basis: 2.1 billion

LinkedIn

  • 10 million endorsements are produced
  • Amount of new LinkedIn users who register on the site: 172,800
  • Approximately 1,370 businesses create LinkedIn pages everyday
