Google Announces New Features in the Firebase of Web Apps

There are over 2 Million active monthly mobile apps functioning on the Firebase which compels Google on improvising the platform and make it more useful for the Android developers. Firebase is something most of the Android developers will have in common. There won’t be many developers who are not acquainted with the use of firebase and hasn’t used its astonishing features. Some of the features Android users love are the integration of Google analytics to know about the app usage, enhancing user experience, increasing user retention with targeting messaging, and perform A/B testing with remote configuration, and tracking the crash by using Crashlytics.

Well, Google has taken it a notch higher from expanding it from just mobile to the web. The tech leader has announced plenty of features especially for the web which is exciting and enticing. Some of the attention-grabbing features include Google Analytics for web apps, extension, and app distribution. Well, it is not limited to these features, there are several others to discuss. 
 

1) Firebase Extension

With the new firebase extension feature, the developers will be able to decrease the time spent on the writing boilerplate code. It is basically a pre-packaged code bundle which can handle multiple tasks like adding people to mailing lists, short URL, and resizing the thumbnails. Google announced that the addition of features will solve some of the important existing issues making the firebase more valuable for the startups. 

 

2) Expanding Analytics

The support of analytics integration has been available for Firebase users since a considerate time. The enhancement here is that now it is also available for web applications. Web developers will also have the ability to record the user properties and events similar to the Android app developers counterpart. The developers can conduct closed funnel analysis and know about the route users choose with the app to become a customer. 
 

3) Mobile App Distribution

The feature of app distribution is now added to Firebase. With this feature, the developer will be able to handle the distribution of the pre-released version of the mobile app for both the platforms Android and iOS. The mobile app developer can also handle multiple testing groups, publish new apps for more distributions and also add release notes from the dashboard. It also avails a CLI support for Gradle, Firebase CLI, and Fastlane.
 

4) Open-source SDK, Emulator Suite, and Prediction Updates

There are some other features added in the Firebase for web apps, let’s cover them one by one.
 Developers are now available with the option to add the images in the notifications which are sent with the Frebase Cloud Messaging. 
 The prediction UI of the Firebase will show the full report of the sers predicted behavior.
 The cloud access of Google and identity management will be available to assist in developing roles for restrictig access to the project.
 Better support for client side and server side SDK, better reloading in security rule changes, database functions, a new rule for continuous integration for Firebase emulator suite.
