Genaker Push To Talk Client Solves Interoperability Challenges Between
Mobile Carriers Open Mobile Alliance based client premieres in U.S. on
BlackberryR mobile devices

BARCELONA, February 12, 2010 – Genaker, a leading Spanish supplier of mobile
business productivity solutions, today announced a Push-to-Talk (PTT) over
Cellular (PoC) client based on the Open Mobile Alliance standard, overcoming
many of the current PoC limitations on U.S. cellular networks. The Genaker
client is the first in its class. In addition to offering real-time group
communications and sub-second performance, it overcomes many of the
limitations of existing U.S. based PTT implementations including
communications across different carriers, inter-country groups and calls,
and cellular handset independence.

To date, one of the main drawbacks slowing PoC adoption within the U.S. has
been the lack of carrier and device interoperability. The proprietary nature
of previous PoC clients requires users to have similar handsets deployed on
the same carrier network. The Genaker solution, which is deployed worldwide
by carriers such as Telefonica, works with all standard PoC network
solutions, as well as most commercial PoC clients. Genaker’s implementation
makes it possible for a user on a Sprint network to use push-to-talk
capabilities with a user on an AT&T network – even when the two users are in
different countries. Having a client based 100% on the OMA standard
protects both end-user and carrier investments.

“Our implementation, which is entirely IP-based, is the only solution that
offers U.S. based carriers an opportunity to provide instant push-to-talk
services to any customer,” said Jordi Guerrero, chief operating officer of
Genaker. “Our approach guarantees interoperability and economies of scale.”

Genaker is previewing its commercially available OMA client for BlackberryR
mobile devices at the upcoming GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona,
February 15 – 18, 2010. The new client is designed to help industries such
as healthcare, construction, logistics, hospitality, and others improve
productivity with instant communication. The company has a large portfolio
of mobile business productivity solutions, including PTT clients for Windows
Mobile platforms, a Dispatcher with both location and field force management
features, and a Private Mobile Radio (PMR) Gateway.
