NEW YORK, N.Y., Jan. 12, 2012 – The leading digital marketing hub provider [x+1], www.xplusone.com, announced today that veteran digital marketing and advertising industry executive Peter Massey been named President and COO, effective immediately. He will be responsible for management of the day-to-day operations of the company, reporting to Chairman and CEO John Nardone.

Massey, who over the last five years had been CFO of leading WPP ad agencies JWT and Ogilvy & Mather, brings extensive experience in managing the operations and finances for both traditional and digital marketing companies serving Fortune 500 clients. His strengths include the development and execution of strategic business plans that drive growth and profitability. His 12-year tenure as CFO/General Manager of digital pioneer Modem Media brings a unique perspective of traditional media and emerging media technologies.

At JWT, where he worked for two and a half years, Massey led the company’s transformation initiative. This included the implementation of custom project-based financial systems, and management processes and procedures that successfully increased client revenue and profitability. During a challenging financial period, Massey deployed new technologies and systems to efficiently cut costs that resulted in profit margin improvement.

During his time as North American CFO of Ogilvy & Mather, Massey established a region-wide revenue forecasting methodology, and set up and managed performance targets for the New York-based client services group. Prior to that, Massey led global financial operations for Ogilvy’s flagship IBM account, including oversight of revenue, staffing and forecasting.

He began his career leading the finance and operations of digital advertising pioneer Modem Media (now Publicis Modem).

“I’m excited to be returning to my passion for leading a cutting-edge, high-growth marketing technology company,” said Massey. “Technology is continuing to transform the way companies brand and sell and [x+1]’s digital marketing hub technology and client solutions are right in the thick of this rapid market evolution. My substantial operational experience on the agency side, including oversight of major client accounts, will serve me well as I help [x+1] continue on its path of growth and innovation.”

“I worked side by side with Peter for years, so I can attest to the high degree of professionalism, commitment and rigor he will bring to [x+1] as we continue to grow,” said Nardone, who partnered together with Massey when President, International, of Modem Media in the 1990s. “We’re thrilled he has agreed to step into this key role at [x+1] during such a critical juncture in the maturation of our company and the ad technology industry as a whole.”
