Do you hate receiving promotional messages and newsletters via email? Well, you just can’t! Survey shows how email marketing when contrasted with social media advertisement outperforms it and how the combination of the two can be even more effective.

Emails are one of the best and the oldest modes of modern communication. Be it a professional exchange or an informal birthday wish for a friend, emails just do wonders. But are they great for marketing your products too? Marketers keep in mind their target audience before they initiate campaigns and adults constitute a major portion of it. Luckily 92% online adults use emails and 61% of them do that on an average day. If this is not convincing enough, let’s talk about online shopping. Of every 100 persons, 81 make another online purchase when they receive promotional emails i.e. coupon codes or special offers based on their former shopping habits. What adds more to this is the fact that 39% of online retailers send personalized product recommendations via email. Furthermore, email marketing has an average ROI of 3800%. Woah, that’s big!

But that’s not just it. The popularity of social media platforms in the recent years have been sky-high but surprising is the fact that email marketing is still way more successful when compared to its counterpart… or so not a counterpart! Although, email is 40 times more effective in acquiring new customers than Facebook or Twitter, the two platforms can be merged to obtain a blend of benefits. While you can send a newsletter to your customers via email at one hand, you can advertise the same by posting about it on Facebook. This not only boosts a company’s sales but also helps maintain a healthy number of subscribers on both platforms. Using content snippets from Twitter or Facebook and linking them back to your email archive is yet another incredible method to get the needful.

Emailing this post to all your acquaintances and friends does seem like a bad idea, doesn’t it? And that’s why you have social media. The infographic by Payfort illustrates how combining them is a better way than simply comparing them. At the end of the day, it’s all about sharing and caring.
