“Disruptive innovation is not a tactic. It’s a mindset” That’s a great quote from Richard Branson at the beginning of a video that celebrates Virgin Records’ 40th birthday.

It’s a record label that started off with being ‘disruptive’ by signing up a complete unknown called Mike Oldfield 40 years ago, then the Sex Pistols in the 70?s, Culture Club in the 80?s and of course ‘girl power’ with The Spice Girls – I know they might not seem ‘disruptive’ now, but they caused a bit of a stir when they started back in the 90?s! They supported lots of other ‘rebels’ (as well as some ‘traditionalists’) over those 40 years.
