Consolidated software business to accelerate development and technological leadership of the engine of Market Research and Enterprise Feedback Management

OSLO, Norway and GUILDFORD, UK – May 23, 2007: Confirmit (OSE:CONF), the world’s leading provider of software for Market Research (MR) and Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM), and Pulse Train, a leading international provider of specialist MR software, today jointly announced their intent to combine the two companies.

The integration of the two businesses and their product portfolios comes as a direct result of Confirmit’s strategy to advance their visionary and technological leadership in the Market Research and Enterprise Feedback Management arenas.

The combined company will be one of the two largest vendors of MR and EFM software worldwide, with the industry’s largest dedicated and most experienced R&D staff. The company will continue to make a significant investment in R&D to secure and maintain its technological leadership and further establish its product portfolio as the engine of MR and EFM.

“Today is a great day for the customers, partners and employees of Pulse Train and Confirmit”, says Confirmit’s CEO Henning Hansen. “We see very significant synergies between the two companies. By bringing the businesses and the product portfolios together; we are in a position to better serve the growing global market for MR and EFM software.”

“Software development is about people. In Pulse Train and Confirmit, we are fortunate to have great employees with solid experience in software development for MR and EFM. The combined company will have the largest and most experienced R&D team in our industry, and the market can expect significant innovations and operational value in the time to come.”

Pulse Train’s CEO Pat Molloy comments: “We are at a milestone, not only for the two companies and their people, but also for the industry as a whole. During my 25+ years in the industry, businesses have been largely relying on multiple disconnected systems and platforms. Not any more. Our product vision is to offer one complete platform with an elegant, modern architecture for any quantitative market research project or feedback process, regardless of data collection mode or methodology. We have known Confirmit for a long time and I personally look forward to the integration of the two businesses and technologies, and how we together will empower the industry to drive further efficiencies, speed, quality and innovation into the market research process whilst lowering total cost of ownership.”

The product portfolios of Confirmit and Pulse Train consist of complementary technologies.

For MR businesses, the consolidation will lead to one complete multi-mode software platform with a modern architecture that:
– Enables any quantitative MR project (methodology or collection mode inference).
– Covers the entire MR process from A to Z (design & collection, data processing, through to analysis & reporting).
– Enables lower cost of ownership through standardization, automation and integration.

For Global 5000 companies, the consolidation will lead to one complete enterprise software platform that:
– Enables data capture onto the single platform, irrespective of the device used (online, wireless, paper, etc.).
– Adds analytical capability to an already powerful reporting and data delivery engine.
– Enables a lower cost of ownership through standardization across the enterprise.

The new combined company will have more than 200 employees and have offices in Oslo (headquarters), Guildford, London, Moscow, New York, Yaroslavl, and San Francisco. Henning Hansen will be the CEO of the integrated companies. Pat Molloy will serve on the executive management team of the combined business, bringing his 25+ years of experience to help drive the company forward.
