BUT, and this is important, it has not changed who we are.
We may be relying on machines and the Internet to do almost everything for us, but we are still living, breathing, thinking human beings.
Every page on the Internet was created by a human or a group of humans who have a certain personality. That personality needs to, and should come out because it tells your readers / viewers about who you are (or at least who you would like them to perceive you as).

Likewise, as we increasingly adopt all forms of online marketing, we must not lose focus of the fact that while search engine crawlers, spiders, directory listing algorithms, etc. are all very important – there is a human being in front of a computer or PDA or cell phone looking at your web page. The content, the imagery, the cool online features, the incredible web-based technologies and functions; everything we expertly put together online must appeal and offer value to a LIVE person.
Here are some things you can do to keep the “human factor” intact in your Internet marketing efforts:
Create content that is written for the human mind and eye. SEO is critical and it will impact how many humans actually see your content, but providing meaningless, keyword stuffed copy will harm your SEO efforts more than help them.
Fulfill a purpose. Your website visitors or social media “followers” / “fans” have found you because they have a purpose, a thirst for information, a problem to be solved. If you don’t give them what they are looking for, they’re lost targets (leads).
Offer Value. This is the key to online success. Always be aware of what real value your content, images, blogs, videos and any other online elements of your offering provide to your target audience. How does anything that you have put online make a difference to someone else’s life? If it doesn’t, it has no value.
